Biographies:
Dr Duncan Grove
Dr Duncan Grove joined the Office of National Intelligence as Deputy Director-General – Digital and Technology in May 2024. He oversees ONI’s digital and data capability, and drives harnessing innovative technology solutions across the National Intelligence Community (NIC).
With more than two decades working in the Defence and wider national security community, he has extensive experience leading technology-focused research, capability development, service delivery and innovation teams.
Prior to joining ONI, Duncan was Chief Mission Data Officer at the Australian Signals Directorate. After starting his career as a research engineer at the Defence Science and Technology Organisation working on a variety of computer security and artificial intelligence projects, he joined DFAT where he held a number of senior positions leading ICT, Data and Innovation functions.
Duncan has a Bachelor of Computer Systems Engineering (First Class Honours) and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Adelaide, an MBA from UNSW, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
RADM Andrew Quinn
RADM Andrew Quinn, RAN graduated from the Australian Defence Force Academy in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science. Early in his career he served as an Officer of the Watch and Fighter Controller on Australian and Canadian Frigates.
In 1998 he graduated as a Principal Warfare Officer (Air), and subsequently served as the Gunnery Officer on the Frigates HMA Ships Sydney and Adelaide. In 2003 he assumed Command of the Fremantle Class Patrol Boat HMAS Bunbury and in 2005 the Armidale Class Patrol boat HMAS Bathurst. After serving as the Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile Project Director and within the Anzac Anti-Ship Missile Defence Upgrade Project, he assumed Command of the ANZAC Class Frigate HMAS Toowoomba in 2009. RADM Quinn has served in operations in Haiti, East Timor, Solomon Islands, Border Protection and in the Middle East. RADM Quinn was awarded a Commendation for Conspicuous Service for his Command of HMAS Toowoomba.
In 2013, RADM Quinn served as Director Frigates, responsible for the through-life capability of the Anzac Class and Project Sponsor of the Future Frigate Project. In 2017 RADM Quinn completed the Australian Defence and Strategic Studies Course as well as a Masters of Arts (Strategic Studies).In 2018 RADM Quinn served as the Combined Maritime Forces Director Operations and Commander Maritime Task Group Middle East Region, as part of Australia’s commitment to promote maritime security. In this capacity RADM Quinn was awarded the US Legion of Merit. In 2019 and 2020 RADM Quinn served as the Commander Australian Maritime Task Group, leading Maritime Task Groups as either a Sea Combat Commander or as a Commander Task Group. This has included multiple operational deployments in the Indo-Pacific.
In November 2020, RADM Quinn commenced as Director General Surface Combatants and Aviation, responsible for the through-life capability of surface and aviation assets. RADM Quinn then served as the Director General – Modernisation, Assessment and Assurance in Joint Operations Command.
On promotion to Rear Admiral, RADM Quinn commenced his current posting as Head Space and Cyber Capabilities in Joint Capabilities Group in December 2024. In his spare time RADM Quinn is a reluctant gardener, enjoys reading (biographies and fantasy), strategy gaming, spending time with his wife and adult children, and walking Bella the family labradoodle.
Stephanie Crowe
Stephanie has an extensive background in cyber security working with government and industry on responding to nationally-significant cyber events and strengthening Australia’s cyber defenses.
Over her 15-year career at ASD, Stephanie has held a number of key roles in signals intelligence and cyber security, including leading the ACSC’s Cyber Security Resilience Division, responsible for delivering technical programs, services and publications across government and industry, as well as enabling the uplift and hardening of critical networks.
Prior, Stephanie led the ACSC’s cyber threat intelligence and incident management functions and designed programs to enhance Australia’s cyber security situational awareness, national threat picture and incident response capabilities. Stephanie has been involved in cyber security efforts supporting key national events such as e-Census, elections and G20, and in facilitating national exercise programs. She has also directed Government’s technical response to numerous nationallysignificant cyber security incidents.
Stephanie has a Bachelor of Asian Studies Specialist (ANU) which led to her to the ASD graduate program in 2009. Throughout her 15+ year career, Stephanie has performed various roles across ASD’s intelligence missions utilising her expertise in operations management.

Jacqui Nelson
Jacqui is the Chief Executive Officer of DekkoSecure, leading initiatives to enhance cyber security and operational resilience across government and industry. With over a decade of experience in the cyber security arena, she is a respected advisor and industry thought leader. Jacqui is the current Chair of the AUKUS Forum Cyber Security Taskforce.
Andrew Philp
Andrew is the Field CISO for Trend Micro across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, with over 28 years of IT and cybersecurity experience. He advises government, critical infrastructure and enterprise leaders on building resilient security programs that strengthen national capability and public trust.
He also serves on the Audit and Risk Committee of a not-for-profit organisation and regularly speaks on industry–government collaboration to advance Australia’s cybersecurity goals
Glenn Maiden
Glenn Maiden is the Chief Security Officer for Fortinet Australia and Director of Threat Intelligence at Fortinet’s FortiGuard Labs Australia and New Zealand. Glenn has over 25 years’ experience across the technology sector with a background in defence, intelligence, national security, and government affairs. Glenn’s role with FortiGuard Labs focuses on identifying and sharing threat intelligence to help organisations protect against current and emerging threats.

This will be an interactive event where you will have an opportunity to raise issues, ask questions of senior NIC/Defence officials and procurement successful Industry participants. Presentations followed by a panel discussion (see themes below), followed by a Q&A from the floor.
Themes we will explore include:
- How should industry best engage with the National Intelligence Community and Defence?
- How alive is the NIC and Defence to the rapidly emerging suite of tech and capabilities produced by the private sector, particularly in start-up world?
- What are the demand signals likely to be in the near to medium term?
- From the industry side, how does the private sector contribute to the national security mission?

Recording and Working Media
As the Chatham House Rule will be in place for the Presentation and Q&A Sessions, there will be no official record of proceedings, private recordings or private imagery. Working media are able to attend but not report on the event. Reporting may only occur with prior express agreement from the Speaker(s).
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Registrations are refundable for cancellations received up to 5 working days before the event, less a $50 administration fee. However, another person or persons may be substituted at no additional cost. No refunds can be made after that date. No refunds are possible for confirmed sponsorships.

Seating Policy
Participants will be seated at round or oval tables of 8 or 10. Seats will be arranged so no participants have their back directly to the podium where possible.
